The 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held on Thursday, April 8th this year. The prestigious program was hosted by one and only Niecy Nash.
The GLAAD Media Awards are the most visible LGBTQ awards show in the world, celebrating the LGBTQ images and stories in media that change hearts and minds and accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community. This exceptional honor is presented by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
Society Awards has the distinguished privilege of crafting the GLAAD Media Award statuette. The iconic design is the result of a 2009 collaborative redesign between Society Awards and GLAAD. We created a modern, mid-century inspired metal sculpture with uplifting wings to mirror the uplifting progress of the LGBTQ community. The statuette is finished in a gleaming matte silver surface. The striking and artful form is presented atop a black painted wood base. It is an immense honor to design and craft this award.
