The prestigious Freddie Awards program was started in 1988 and is named after Sir Freddie Laker. Laker was an icon in the air travel industry. He innovated many of the programs that are now common practice and set the groundwork for the world’s most exclusive and forward-thinking travel loyalty programs.
The Freddie Awards’ tagline is “representing the voice of the frequent traveler.” That is because the program honors airline, credit card and hotel brands based on the voting of real consumers around the world.
The awards program has grown to become the most important recognition for the travel loyalty industry. It's far more than a niche, the Freddie Awards are in fact deeply influential and important. The brands that vie for this prestigious honor include the world's most famous and brand-loyal travel companies.
The custom trophy for the program is crafted primarily from high end acrylic. This material allows for a similarly luminous quality as crystal at a much lower weight. The most important added benefit of acrylic is that we can embed the Freddie Awards logo inside of the central column, which gives the sculpture a very modern and attractive appearance. The top of the form has an on-brand blue accent and the entire piece is flush mounted on polished metal base.
Winners will be honored at a ceremony held on April 25th, 2019 at the C. R. Smith Museum in Dallas.
