Spotlight: NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) is the labor organization representing professional football players in the NFL. Each year the NFLPA hosts a post season game for NFL draft-eligible players, known as the Collegiate Bowl, at the StubHub Center in California. Players are given the opportunity for draft into the NFL, while the winning team and MVP of the bowl game are each awarded a trophy.

SERVICE

The NFLPA came to Society Awards looking to elevate their awards program to match the opportunity for draft presented to the players. They looked to our design team to create original and artistic designs that would be impressive in size and stature and representative of the sport.

We took these notes and our vision to the design phase and brought to life in 3D renders a handful of beautiful, artistic gold and silver custom statues. Impressed with the detail of the 3D renderings, the NFLPA selected two designs that went straight to production, with no changes or tweaks.

ARTISTRY

The two new trophy designs debuted at the 4th annual Collegiate Bowl on January 17th, 2015. Terrell Watson won the MVP honors and took home the MVP trophy, boasting a football figure on a sleek arched stand, with a pristine silver finish.

The second design, a true-to-size silver plated football resting on a silver base with two twisting columns, all finished in a shiny silver, was awarded to the National Team with a 17-0 victory over the American Team.

In the words of the NFLPA, “[The awards] were a big hit!”
