The Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC) is a performance rights organization that works to ensure its writers and publishers have both performance and mechanical rights.
Dating back to 1931, SESAC was only the second performing rights organization in America. The prominent organization now represents thousands of music publishers and affiliates as well as film and television composers. Its impressive repertoire hosts more than 1 million songs.
SESAC has established itself a leader in technology and data services industry-wide through the organization's collection of royalties across broadcast, digital and general licensing businesses.
In honor of its Music Creators, SESAC holds 4 different ceremonies - SESAC Pop Music Awards, SESAC Nashville Music Awards, SESAC Latina Music Awards and the SESAC Film and Television Composer Awards. The custom award is a cast pewter trophy in the shape of a music note with an intricate Art Deco style pattern on the sides. Society Awards also manufactured antique gold medallions with the SESAC logo on a red velvet neck ribbon for the prestigious award ceremonies.
