The Wounded Warrior Project honors the brave men and women who fought for our country by providing support programs and services that have been so valiantly earned but that are not always accessible. To create the Wounded Warrior Project Empowerment Award, Society Awards customized the luxurious Gatsby Black trophy from our Exclusives Collection.
Behind the WWP Empowerment Award
The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a U.S.-based nonprofit founded in 2003 dedicated to supporting veterans and their families affected by service related physical and mental health challenges. The organization also hosts high-profile events like the annual Courage Awards, celebrating veterans, advocates, volunteer leaders, and corporate partners.
The Wound Warrior Project states that the Empowerment Award recognizes exceptional corporate support that helps WWP honor and empower wounded warriors. It's presented each year at the Courage Awards & Benefits Concert, alongside the Courage Award, the Service Award, and the Legislator of the Year Award.
Materials and Craftsmanship behind the Trophy
A central, solid aluminum column with a highly polished surface is mounted atop a brushed black aluminum base. The central column is accented with black panels that match the base and have an Art Deco flair. For this honor, we etched three of the ‘Deco’ panels with a unique, graphic pattern made up of words core to the Wounded Warrior Project mission. The front panel is etched with the logo for a truly custom appearance. The date and honor are etched on the base.
